You are viewing this web page through a program called a browser, which fetches html pages from a web server and delivers them to your monitor for viewing.  Most likely you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, although there are several others being used on the Internet.

The continuing battle over browser standards between Netscape and Microsoft produces good and bad results (so what's new?) for web users.  The good news is we can do much more than we could 5 years (or even 5 weeks!) ago, including viewing animations, streaming music and much more.  The bad news is, MS and Netscape choose to implement many of these functions in different ways, resulting in unpredictable results and errors for some pages.

The Bottom Line:
Most web masters compose for both browsers, but not always. The best thing you can do as an Internet user is always update your browser with the latest version.  They are free, and are  usually easy to install.  If you have a slow connection, start the download before you go to bed, and finish it up in the morning!
